Endowments 101, Part II – Avoid the “Oh Shoots!” and Find the Ladders: Legal Strategy Basics for Starting and Managing Endowments in PA
Tuesday, May 21 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Webinar

Presented by: Morgen Cheshire, Esq., Managing Attorney, Cheshire Law Group

Endowments can be tricky – with legal issues that can trip an organization up, and arrangements that can compromise an organization’s best interests and strain donor relations. To make the most of your organization’s charitable dollars and fundraising efforts, learn about the legal and business risks of setting up and managing endowments, and learn about what you can do to steer your organization clear of setbacks and regrets (the chutes and “Oh Shoots!”).

In this session, you’ll take away:

  • Insights into how nonprofits get tripped up by endowment issues and tips for avoiding these common missteps.
  • A primer on Pennsylvania law governing the management of charitable investments.
  • Legal strategy basics for setting up and managing endowments.
  • Questions to ask about your organization’s existing endowment – or before starting one – to avoid headaches!

This webinar is being offered as a complement to last week's Endowments 101, Part I, presented by nonprofit consultant Perry Monastero. Attendance at Endowments 101, Part I is not required in order to attend Endowments 101, Part II. If you'd like to purchase access to the recording of Endowments 101, Part I, please email PANO's Administrative & Membership Specialist Faduma Hasson at faduma@pano.org or check our online store for a copy of the recording 48 hours after the live session.

Single Login Cost:
$30 per person for PANO Members | $66 per person for Not-Yet Members

Terms of Participation
Your purchase entitles you to a single login. Please do not share the login information with others, as it may interfere with your ability to join. If multiple individuals from your organization would like to view the webinar, please purchase separate tickets for each person or consider a group screening ticket (below).

Group Ticket Cost (4-10 individuals):
$100 per group for PANO Members | $222 per group for Not-Yet Members

Terms of Participation
If you have 4-10 individuals interested in accessing the webinar, please have one person register selecting the group ticket. You can then enter the names and email addresses of up to 9 other individuals to add to your group ticket. All registrants on your group ticket will receive their own unique login link to view the webinar.

This option makes the most sense when you have 4-10 individuals interested in viewing the webinar. For fewer than 4 attendees, a single login ticket for each person is the most cost-effective option. For more than 10 attendees, please email Christina at christina@pano.org to discuss options.

Materials & Login/Call-In Instructions:
Materials (PowerPoint and other handouts), along with instructions on how to login and call-in, will be emailed to attendees a few days prior to the date of the webinar. PANO uses Zoom as our webinar platform; you can familiarize yourself with Zoom and/or join a test meeting prior to these sessions.

Can’t attend? All registrants will receive a recording of the webinar following the live session!
