This program will include two segments:
Board Legal and Fiduciary roles: Keeping nonprofits strong and sustainable involves board members understanding and overseeing the legal and fiduciary components of their roles in the organization. We will review the major governance responsibilities and provide easily implemented tools and procedures to ensure that functions happens.
Fostering Efficient and Effective Meetings: How often do we hear? That meeting was great! It was a really good use of my time!?? Or do we have opposite feelings when we leave a meeting? Something like?I Could have used that time doing something more productive? This program aims to increase the productivity and outcomes for any type of meeting? Board, committee, task force, working group, coalition, etc. This interactive session will cover the following and more:
Tips for planning and preparing for a meeting;
Practices to create more engaged meetings;
How to make meetings more strategic and have detailed work happen outside the meeting;
How to be confident as the chairperson and keep members focused on action steps;
Keys to meeting follow-up;
Guidelines for meeting minutes.
Last, there will be time to share your own wisdom in what creates a meeting where people leave saying? That meeting was great!
